A living calendar of making and the turning year.
This Season: Winter - Looking for the Light
Late winter is a time for pause – for quiet reflection and slow, meditative making before the riot of spring begins. Candles are now lit a little later on these long, dark evenings, reminding us that although we still shelter from the cold, the Oak King has already triumphed over the Holly King and the light is slowly returning.
Along the hedgerows, snowdrops and winter aconites push through the earth, showing the way for the next wave of spring flowers. We stand on the cusp of change – holding the stillness of winter a little longer, noticing the first subtle shifts in the living calendar.
Explore the reflections, listen to the seasonal poem, or simply linger awhile.
